Hard Rock Sportsbook Louisiana Bonus and Review

Disclaimer: Hard Rock Sportsbook is not yet live in Louisiana. This review is speculative based on its offering in other states and will be updated once Hard Rock Sportsbook comes online here.

Hard Rock Sportsbook may be smaller than some of the other betting site that could be coming to Louisiana. But, for a smaller site, it certainly packs a punch.

Hard Rock Louisiana welcome bonus – the fine print!

Bonuses can improve your sportsbook experience, so long as you pay attention to the terms and conditions. Here are some of the key components of Hard Rock’s welcome bonus:

  • You need to make a minimum deposit of $100 to activate the bonus.
  • You have to opt in to the bonus when you’re depositing.
  • Your qualifying bet can’t be a futures bet, and you must make it within 7 days of opting in to the bonus.
  • If you lose your bet of $100 or more, the bonus cash will arrive in your account within 24 hours of settling the bet.

The best thing about the bonus bet bonus is there are no wagering requirements — and because there are no wagering requirements, your money won’t expire after a time limit, and you won’t forfeit it if you try to withdraw it early. Instead, the money will arrive in your account as normal cash.

Hard Rock bonus example: You place your first bet for $100 and lose. Within 24 hours, you receive a $100 cash bonus. There are no wagering requirements on the $100 cash bonus. You do not have to wager it to withdraw it. It is your money again, and you can do whatever you want with it — simple.

Can I trust Hard Rock Sportsbook in Louisiana?

Hard Rock Sportsbook is owned by the Hard Rock restaurant and hospitality brand, which has been in operation since 1971. The first Hard Rock Casino opened in 1995, and in 2007 the Seminole Tribe of Florida bought the company. The many years of experience help reinforce the legitimacy of Hard Rock.

Not only is that wealth of experience a reason to trust Hard Rock Sportsbook, but it also already has a license to operate in Arizona, Iowa, New Jersey and Virginia. Obtaining licenses is not an easy task. Sportsbooks must be able to show they meet strict regulations, that they have the security infrastructure in place and that they can protect the safety of their customers online.

Getting started at Hard Rock Sportsbook

So, it’s pretty clear that Hard Rock is trustworthy, and it’s got a solid welcome bonus. The next question is how to get started at the site. Well, to create an account at Hard Rock Sportsbook, you’ll need to go to the site, select the “sign up” button on the right of the page, and follow the prompts as you go.

The process is simple. You just need to have some personal information ready:

  • Email
  • Name
  • Date of birth
  • Address
  • Phone number
  • Last four digits of your Social Security number

Note that you can make a Hard Rock online sportsbook LA account even if you’re not in a state where it’s legal. But, if you want to place bets, then you must be in a state where it’s legal. Be prepared to download a geolocation plug-in for your web browser, or use the Hard Rock app. These will allow Hard Rock to pinpoint your location.

How do I download the Hard Rock Sportsbook LA app?

To get the Hard Rock Sportsbook Louisiana app, you need to go to the sportsbook’s homepage. Once you’re there, scroll down to the bottom. Next to the fine print, click on either “Get it on Android” or “Download on the App Store” depending on whether you’re on an Android or iOS device.

Simply select the appropriate operating system, follow any additional prompts and you’re off. Your download will begin, and you’ll soon be able to bet on mobile.

To verify your location in a state where Hard Rock Sportsbook is legal, the app will use your phone’s GPS and Wi-Fi to geolocate you. Therefore you need to have your location services enabled. If you’ve disabled them for security purposes, you’ll have to temporarily enable them. Crucially, in Louisiana, you would need to be in one of the 55 parishes where sports betting is legal — unfortunately, the whole state isn’t on the same page.

Where do I find Hard Rock promotions?

On both the app and website, you can find Hard Rock promos under the “promotions” tab. This is under the main menu in the Hard Rock LA app, and on the left of the screen on the website.

Once you enter the promotions page, you’ll find everything the sportsbook (and casino) has to offer. While there are a lot of promotions, most of them are for the casino, not the sportsbook. This means they’re relevant only if you’re interested in online casino games and in a state, such as New Jersey, where online casino play is legal.

Hard Rock loyalty program

At the time of writing, Hard Rock Sportsbook does not have a loyalty program. However, you can earn Hard Rock rewards that you can use to help purchase hotel rooms, buy things at Hard Rock retail locations, get priority cafe seating and more.

If the Hard Rock Cafe locations are something you’re interested in, then this could benefit you. But, if you’d rather go to other places to eat or spend time, it’s hard to see how this would help you.

Ultimately, these points for in-person comps are going to come down to personal preference. Some of us may love going down to the Hard Rock Cafe on Bourbon Street, while some of us prefer to spend time in smaller joints.

Why should I choose the Hard Rock Sportsbook app?

Here are three reasons that we think you’ll appreciate the Hard Rock Louisiana sportsbook app:

  • Welcome bonus: Wagering requirements are annoying and can get between you and your money. The fact that Hard Rock doesn’t have them on its bonus bet bonus is great.
  • Easy and intuitive app: If you download the app, you’ll see how easy it is to use. You can access nearly all the sportsbook’s bets with a few clicks from the homepage. It even includes quick links to the live sports section.
  • College sports: One of the best things about the Louisiana Hard Rock is that you can use it to bet on college sports. That means you can bet on LSU to beat Ole Miss next time there’s a big game.

What won’t I like about the Hard Rock Sportsbook app?

Putting those three positives to one side, here are three negatives to be aware of about the Hard Rock Sportsbook:

  • No loyalty program: Loyalty programs aren’t the be-all and end-all of sportsbooks, but they do offer extra perks to dedicated players. Those perks are what help you feel wanted by the sportsbook, especially if you’re betting a lot. It’s a shame Hard Rock only has rewards points to use at its cafes and hotels.
  • Now many sports: We noticed it straight away. There are very few sports to bet on at Hard Rock Sportsbook. In fact, at the time of writing, there were 13 sports. Compare this to something like DraftKings Sportsbook, which has many more.
  • Ridiculous PayPal minimum withdrawal: The PayPal withdrawal minimum is $100. This is irresponsibly high. Players with less money will have to either commit additional money to meet the withdrawal threshold, or they’ll have to bet existing money to meet it. Both circumstances involve more risk, and the only way to alleviate it would be with a lower withdrawal minimum.

What kind of bets can I make at Hard Rock?

Hard Rock has the same standard bets as you would find at FanDuel, DraftKings or anywhere else:

  • Moneyline: Bet on which side will win the game.
  • Total: Also known as an over/under, here you are betting on the total combined score of the game.
  • Spread: A spread bet is a bet that incorporates the point difference between the two teams.
  • Parlay: Combine several smaller bets together. To win a parlay, you must win all of its constituent bets.

In addition to these, there are many other types of bets available. However, as we mentioned, at Hard Rock, the number of sports to bet on does not match the number of bets available.

What are the odds at Hard Rock Sportsbook?

To get a better idea of the standard bets, let’s take a look at an example game:

SpreadTotalMoneyline
Philadephia Eagles+4 (-115)Over 47.5 (-110)+170
Atlanta Falcons-4 (-105)Under 47.5 (-110)-190

In this example, we immediately know which team is the favorite: the Atlanta Falcons. This is because, on the moneyline bet, the Falcons have negative odds. Negative odds, in this case -190, mean you’d have to risk that sum of money in order to win $100 on a correct bet.

The positive odds work the opposite way. Rather than showing you how much you need to risk to win $100, they show you how much you’d win if you were to risk $100. For example, if you wagered $100 on the Eagles to win, you’d get a $170 profit on a successful bet.

When it comes to the spread bet, the odds work exactly the same. However, you wager on the positive or negative point difference. So, in the spread column for the Eagles, you can bet on them to win by any score or lose by less than four, which is indicated by the +4. For the Falcons, you would be betting on them to win the game by more than four, as indicated by the -4.

Again, the odds for the total work the same way, but with a new number. This is the over/under amount. In the example above, you can bet on the total to be over or under 47.5 points.

Can I bet on the New Orleans Pelicans at Hard Rock?

As we mentioned above, there are relatively few sports to bet on at Hard Rock. This paucity of sports means that if you’re looking for niche games or international events, there’s a chance you won’t be able to find them.

However, one team that you can bet on is the New Orleans Pelicans. And, while they’re not always performing their best, Hard Rock does offer good odds on their games.

How do I get money on (and off!) Hard Rock Sportsbook quickly?

Hard Rock’s banking methods are about the same as other legal sportsbooks. You’ll find more deposit methods compared to withdrawal methods.

Hard Rock deposit methods

  • Automated clearing house/e-check
  • Visa (debit)
  • Mastercard (debit)
  • PayPal
  • Play+

Hard Rock withdrawal methods

  • PayPal
  • Play+
  • Automated clearing house/e-check

For most methods, the deposit minimum is $10, but for PayPal it is $20.

When you want to withdraw your money, Hard Rock says that it will “be available” in two business days. In fact, only PayPal and Play+ are fewer than two days — PayPal is 48 hours and Play+ is instant. ACH/e-check could take between three and five business days.

The minimum withdrawal amount for most methods is $10, but as before PayPal is different. This time, however, it’s vastly different. The minimum withdrawal amount using PayPal at Hard Rock is $100 — a notably large sum.

Frankly, a $100 minimum withdrawal is ridiculous. This is too high, and it has the potential to lead to significant negative consequences. If you have less than $100 in your account and want to stop betting, you would need to either bet to try to reach $100 in your account or deposit more to be able to withdraw. Either way, players may end up in a situation where they have to part with more of their money or put it at risk.

How do I get help at Hard Rock Sportsbook?

At Hard Rock online sportsbook, these are the main support methods available:

  • Phone: 1-877-825-7777
  • Email: [email protected]
  • Live chat: You can find this in the corner of any Hard Rock Sportsbook page.

The live chat and phone line are open every day between 6 a.m. and 2 a.m., which is pretty good coverage. But, for a company the size of Hard Rock, 24/7 live support would of course be better.

However, Hard Rock notes that its email is open 24/7. But isn’t that what you’d expect of an email? It’s how fast someone replies to your email that matters, surely? If the live chat and phone lines aren’t manned during certain hours, why is the email? Whatever Hard Rock says, don’t expect an immediate response if you send an email in the dead of night.

When you do speak to customer service, however, you will find it to be a helpful experience. In our testing, we were placed third in the line and were able to speak to someone within a few minutes.

How do I exclude myself from Hard Rock?

Hard Rock has a few responsible gambling tools available, available by going to the “responsible gaming” link at the bottom of the sportsbook page. One option is to exclude yourself from your account entirely for a set period of time. Along with self-exclusion, you can set limits on your account:

  • Time limits: Daily, monthly or yearly limits on the amount of time that you can spend on the Hard Rock Sportsbook site. As soon as you meet your max time, you can’t use the site until it refreshes.
  • Loss limits: Daily, monthly or yearly limits on the sum of money that you can lose. Once you’ve lost that amount in the set time period, you won’t be able to wager anything until time is up.
  • Deposit limits: A daily, monthly or yearly limit on the amount of money you can deposit into Hard Rock Sportsbook. If you’ve met your deposit limit, Hard Rock will no longer accept your deposits.

Can I bet at Hard Rock Sportsbook in person?

Hard Rock has not yet announced a physical sportsbook location in Louisiana, but if you are in Mississippi, Iowa or New Jersey, you can go to the sportsbooks at Hard Rock Casino Biloxi, Hard Rock Casino Sioux City or Hard Rock Casino Atlantic City.

How does Hard Rock compare to other Louisiana sportsbooks?

We’ve had a look at Hard Rock and what some of its pros and cons are. But it’s equally informative to compare it to other sportsbooks to give you some perspective on those benefits and downsides.

The odds at Hard Rock are roughly the same as those you’ll find at DraftKings. There may be some variation in different events, but they’re going to be broadly the same across the board.

As we’ve already seen, the available sports at Hard Rock are few in number. DraftKings, on the other hand, has more sports for you to bet on. Those interested in betting on handball, for instance, will be disappointed at Hard Rock.

Where Hard Rock shines in comparison to DraftKings is its bonus. There are very few similar bonuses around, so it helps to set Hard Rock apart. What’s more, the overall DraftKings Louisiana bonus is pretty poor.

When it comes to app comparison, both are equally good. They’re both highly intuitive, simple, and easy to use and navigate. Placing bets and keeping updated is simple. The Hard Rock quick launch live sports links are good, but DraftKings has those too — it’s likely that Hard Rock took inspiration from DraftKings here.

Hard Rock Bet Louisiana FAQ

You should choose Hard Rock over an offshore site for one clear reason: It’s legal and regulated. Offshore sites have no legal obligation to their US customers; legal US sites do. If anything — big or small — goes wrong, at an offshore you can’t do anything about it. At a legal sportsbook you can contact the state regulatory authority, file a third-party complaint and normally get solid customer service from the sportsbook itself.

For most methods, the minimum deposit is $10, but for PayPal, it is $20. The minimum withdrawal is also $10, but for PayPal, it’s much steeper: $100.

Yes, you can bet on college sports at Hard Rock. College sports betting is legal in Louisiana, so you can bet on the LSU Tigers, Tulane Green Wave and other schools in the state as well as the rest of the US.

Hard Rock doesn’t currently let you cash out your bets early, unlike DraftKings, for instance. Hard Rock does let you place a small number of live bets, though.

Yes, Hard Rock does have an online casino. It is, however, only available in select states. One benefit is that you can transfer your balance between the sportsbook and casino.
